CAGE THE ELEPHANT’S NEON PILL TOUR 2024

On Friday, July 5th, 2024 Cage The Elephant’s Neon Pill Tour took place at The Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix, Arizona. The tour also featured Young The Giant, Bakar, and Willow Avalon as support.

Before this day I had heard very little of all of these bands and artists. I had heard very good things about Cage The Elephant and Young The Giant live shows from friends who had seen them perform before. I did know there was going to be some pyrotechnics being used by Cage The Elephant, which got me excited.

The show began with Willow Avalon taking the stage. When she came out wearing boots and picked up a pink cowboy hat, I did not know what to expect from her performance.  As soon as Willow started singing, I knew it would be more of a country-like show. She had an amazing voice and the entire audience that was there enjoyed her performance.

The second artist to take the stage was Bakar, a British indie pop-rock singer. He had a little R&B mixed up his style, which was very cool to see and hear. It was cool seeing him active throughout the stage and getting the crowd hyped for what was to come next.

Young The Giant was the next band on stage, which I was really looking forward to seeing because I had heard so many good things about their performance. Lead vocalist/guitarist Sameer Gadhia had an amazing performance. His vocals were flawless and kept the entire audience cheering and singing along, while the other guitar players on stage were putting on their own show and interacting with the crowd. I cannot wait to see them again shortly.

Last but not least, it was time for Cage The Elephant to take the stage. As soon as their opening song “Broken Boy” started playing and lead vocalist Matt Shultz started, pyrotechnics went off and the entire audience could be heard loudly. Throughout the entire performance all band members on stage were putting on a spectacle no one would forget for years to come. Other than pyro, the band also used some lasers to make their performance even better. I cannot wait for the band to come back and put on another amazing show. I wish the band the best for the remainder of their tour and their future endeavors.
