THE TOUR TO END ALL TOURS 2022

On September 24th, 2022, the power metal machine that is Sabaton finally returned to Phoenix, Arizona. This time around they played at The Arizona Financial Theatre, which has a much bigger stage for them to have more space for their stage setup and for them to move around.

This time around they brought the Dutch symphonic metal masters, Epica.  They opened the show to a pretty full theatre of people, which was fantastic. There is a lot of female-fronted heavy metal local bands in the Phoenix, Arizona area. A lot of member from those local bands were present to see the force that is Epica. Simone Simons powerful vocals really draws you in and want more, along with the vocals from guitarist, Mark Jansen. The band opened up their set with “Abyss of Time – Countdown to Singularity”, and they also played other notable songs like “The Essence of Silence”, “Unchain Utopia”, “Storm The Sorrow”, and or course they ended their set with their heavy hitter ” Consign To Oblivion”. The band had a really good performance and the crowd really responded well to it.

It was finally time to for Sabaton, the metal machine, to take the stage. The entire theatre were chanting their name so loud, it was deafening.  The band started their set with “Ghost Division”, and everyone started singing along lead singer, Joakim Brodén. The theater was so loud that you could not hear the vocalist sing, I could not believe what I was witnessing. The band also could not believe what they were seeing out there and thanked the fans for their support. The band continued along playing some of their biggest hits like “The Red Baron”, “Bismarck”, “Carolus Rex”, “Shiroyama” and one my favorite songs “Primo Victoria”. When the band started playing “Swedish Pagans”, someone in the crowd took out a Swedish flag, that was really cool to see. Sabaton ended their set with a bang, ” To Hell and Back”, and the crowd sang it as loud as they could.

I cannot wait to see Sabaton again, hopefully sooner than later. If you have not experienced their show, please go see them.
