THE INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH TOUR 2022
After almost two years of waiting, The Industrial Strength Tour finally arrives in Phoenix AZ. The tour lineup also went through some band changes, and I was also excited to see the new lineup.
The first band to play was Corrosion of Conformity, I had seen them before and I could not wait to see them play again. The band played a lot of their most known songs like “Paranoid Opioid”, “Diablo Blvd.”, “and of course “Albatross” and “Clean My Wounds” closed their setlist. I enjoy listening to their southern rock/metal style of music, and Pepper Keenan’s vocals fit that style.
The second band to play was The Melvins, I do not listen to their music, but I was excited to see their performance. I kept hearing that they put on really good shows and I was looking forward to seeing that. As soon as they started playing the band was very energetic, moving throughout the stage and jumping. I like seeing bands that are very energetic because it makes it more appealing, at least for me it does. I would like to see the band play again at some point.
It was finally time for Ministry to take the stage, they were touring to celebrate the 30th anniversary of “The Mind Is A Terrible Thing Taste” album. For this particular tour, the band put a fence/stage in front of the stage that blocked them from the crowd. Al Jourgensen looked like a lion inside a cage, and I enjoyed that he was moving throughout the stage, just like the other band members on stage. This night in particular the crowd was rowdy, the last time I saw the band the fans were not as rowdy. The band opened their set with “Breathe”, and also played other notable songs like “Stigmata”, “N.W.O”, “Supernaut (Black Sabbath cover)”, and they ended their set with a cover from Iggy and The Stooges which was Search and Destroy. It’s always a treat to see Ministry perform and can’t wait to see them again.
