SEAL WORLD TOUR 2023

On the evening of April 25, 2023, Seal kicked off his World Tour 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona. The tour is in celebration of 30 years of his classic albums, Seal I and Seal II.

My history with Seal started when I went to the movie theater to see the film, Batman Forever in 1995. As the movie credits rolled on, Kiss From A Rose started to play, and I immediately fell in love with the song. I was only nine years old at the time when the movie was released.

The following year, Space Jam was released in theaters. During the movie a song called “Fly Like An Eagle” played and the person singing the song sounded really familiar. A couple weeks later I bought the movie soundtrack on tape and saw that Seal was the one singing the song. From that point on I became a fan and was excited to see his performance.

This night was my very first time seeing Seal in concert. Before he appeared onstage a short video showing many of his accomplishments and appearances on TV was shown.

He started the show with the song “Crazy”, and immediately everyone in the venue started singing and dancing along. This continued because he followed it up with the song “The Beginning”.  He was moving and interacting with the crowd throughout the night, which made the performance feel more intimate.

As the show continued I noticed a young lady close to me that started crying because of how emotional she got from the songs that Seal was singing. The lyrics of his music really mean something to people and it was nice to see the emotions of people.

Other notable songs he played throughout the night were “Whirpool”, “Bring It On”, “Violet”, “Don’t Cry” and “Deep Water”. During the cover song “Killer”, he came down from the stage and started singing alongside the crowd and everyone in the venue started dancing and moving along.

Of course, he played the song “Kiss From A Rose”, alongside the music video on the screen behind him. I was extremely happy to hear that song play because it brought memories from the first time I heard that song for the first time back in 1995.

I really enjoyed his performance, his vocals were impeccable. I would recommend that if you have the chance to go see him perform live in concert to please go and attend the show. Seal puts a performance not to be missed and I was glad to have seen him. I wish him the best for the rest of the tour and his future endeavors.
