SIMPLE MINDS ALIVE & KICKING TOUR 2025 – TALKING STICK RESORT AMPHITHEATRE IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA
Soft Cell’s recent performance was nothing short of a synth-pop masterclass. Marc Almond’s vocals were on point all night, rich, emotive, and effortlessly cool. Backed by synchronized, powerhouse backing singers, every track felt bigger, fuller, and more alive.
The keyboards were pure retro magic, delivering that signature synthetic sound fans love. It was a sleek, electronic dreamscape equal parts nostalgic and vibrant. From the opening notes to the final encore, they rolled through all the hits, giving longtime fans exactly what they came for.
And the crowd? Dancing from start to finish. There wasn’t a still body in sight, just people fully locked into the beat, singing every word.
Soft Cell didn’t just perform, they electrified, a perfect night of synth-pop bliss.
Simple Minds proved one thing at their recent show: they’ve still got it. The band delivered a tight, passionate set that felt both nostalgic and fresh, reminding everyone why they’ve stayed relevant for decades. Bassist Ged Grimes held down the groove with cool confidence, locked into every note like it was second nature. Drummer Cherisse Osei was a total standout, all power and joy behind the kit, driving the set with energy that was downright infectious. Guitarist Charlie Burchill was in his element, leaping across the stage with a 12-string in hand, playing like a man who still loves what he does. You could feel the connection between the bandmates, and more importantly, between them and the crowd. The visuals were clean and sharp, but the real show was the music, raw, powerful, and full of life. From the classics to newer tracks, everything hits with purpose.
Simple Minds didn’t just play a concert, they reminded us what a great live band sounds and feels like.
