COREY TAYLOR WORLD TOUR 2023

On the evening of September 28th, 2023,  it was finally time for Corey Taylor’s return to the Marquee Theatre. This was the first time I was experiencing Corey’s show. I am very familiar with Slipknot and Stone Sour, so i did not what to expect.

When I arrived to the venue I glad to see people from all ages. Also saw a lot of people wear Slipknot t-shirts, which most of the crowd knows Corey from.

I was extremely excited to see and experience the Corey Taylor solo experience. The main question I had was “Is he going to play any songs from the Slipknot  or Stone Sour catalog ?
The answer would be revealed very soon and very early during his set.  He would open his set with the song “Post-Traumatic Blues” from his latest album CMF2.

Corey’s vocals sounded amazing, after hearing the first song I was blown away.  His voice is powerful where he controls the entire crowd and a lot of people singing along.  The follow up was the song “Tumult” taken from the Stone Sour self-titled album. I was smiling throughout the entirety of that song since it is one of my favorites.

Corey also mentioned that he battling a sinus infection, and the treatment he received prior to the show made him feel a lot better. Although if he had not mentioned anything, I would not have noticed he was a bit ill.

He performed the “SpongeBob Squarepants” theme and the whole venue started singing, one of the most memorable things I heard that night. A little bit later they started playing Slipknot’s Before I Forget, which sounded really good.

I also noticed the audience was really enjoying the Slipknot song, which was not the only the played this very memorable night.
Some other memorable songs they played were Stone Sour’s Bother and Through Glass, We Are The Rest, Beyond and Talk Sick from his solo releases. The band ended the night with Motorhead’s cover of Ace of Spades, and I was just speechless.

If you have not experienced The Corey Taylor Solo Experience, please go check him out. I cannot wait to see him perform again. I wish Corey and the rest of the band and crew the best for any of their future endeavors.
