THE SMASHING PUMPKINS “SPIRITS ON FIRE” TOUR 2022
On the night of November 18th, 2022 The Smashing Pumpkins performed at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. This was a packed show and it showed rock n’ roll it’s alive and well. As soon as the lights turned off the entire venue stood up.
The intro song started playing and a moth-looking creature appeared on the background screens. Eventually, each band member started appearing on the stage, but it was when singer/guitarist Billy Corgan appeared when the venue exploded.
The band opened their set with the song “Empires”, then it was followed by the hits “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” and “Today”. It was really cool to see everyone singing alongside the band throughout the night. Other notable songs played this night were “Tonight, Tonight”, “Cherub Rock”, “Zero” and “1979”.
This was my first time seeing The Smashing Pumpkins perform and they did not disappoint. I would see them again if they come back to Arizona, and I recommend anyone to go out and check them out.
