PUNK IN DRUBLIC FESTIVAL 2022 – BELL BANK PARK MESA, AZ

On March 19th, 2022 the Punk in Drublic Craft Beer & Music Festival stopped at The Bell Bank Park in Mesa, AZ. Being that the festival was outdoors, it was a very hot day.  On the festival grounds, there were a lot of tents with things for people to buy like shirts and other souvenirs. From noon to 3 P.M., they had a free beer tasting event around the festival grounds as well. I am not a big drinker, so I did not try any of the beer samples they were giving. I did try a drink called Liquid Death, which was not bad.

The music started at 1 P.M., the first band to come up on-stage was Winterhaven, a band from Arizona, which I have not heard of before.  Their sound was very pop-punk, which is not a bad thing and I liked what I heard from them. Next up on-stage was The Venomous Pinks, another band from Arizona. The Venomous Pinks is an all-female punk band that reminded me of a Rancid-type of sound. I would love to see them perform again sometime soon, hopefully, they can go on tour with a big punk band.  The Last Gang was the next band to come up on-stage. Their sound reminded of The Distillers, while adding their original sound. I really enjoyed their energy on the stage. Authority Zero was up next and right away every band member was super energetic, especially the lead singer. I wanted to get in pit just by watching him. Every band that has played raises the bar even more as they come up. Lagwagon was up next, and up to this point none of the bands have disappointed me in any way. This band like the rest just kept that energy going on-stage and the fans in the crowd gave it back. The Bouncing Souls was up next,  and I was entertained by their performance and really liked what I heard. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes was up next and by far the best band of the festival. They performed like if that was their last performance ever. I loved how they had the crowd participating in their songs. They also brought Fat Mike on-stage to play some songs and it was awesome to see that. Last but not least, NOFX were the last ones to perform, and they played really good, by this time a lot of the fans had gone home.

I really enjoyed this punk festival, and wish and hope to go to more punk shows in the future.
